兔斯基 — Tuzki (The Running Rabbit)
What Is 兔斯基?
Tuzki is a simple line-drawn white rabbit character created by Chinese artist Wang Momo in 2006. His animated sticker expressions — running wildly, waving arms, looking bored, giving thumbs up, and dozens more — became the original Chinese internet expression pack, spreading through QQ, MSN Messenger, and early social platforms years before WeChat stickers existed.
Origin
Wang Momo, then a student at the Communication University of China, posted the first Tuzki animation to her blog on September 6, 2006. The character was based on her pet rabbit. The animated GIF format made Tuzki perfect for early chat platforms. By 2008 Tuzki had spread to over 30 countries and became one of the most recognized Chinese-origin internet characters globally.
Cultural Context
兔斯基 is the ancestor of all Chinese biaoqing culture — the original expression pack. Before WeChat, before sticker stores, before the explosion of panda head memes, Tuzki defined what Chinese chat expression packs could be. His running, his waving, his bored face and his 'whatever' shrug established the visual vocabulary that Chinese internet messaging has used ever since.
How It's Used
The OG Chinese internet sticker. Tuzki running = mad dash. Tuzki waving = greeting/goodbye. Tuzki shrugging = whatever, nothing matters.
